THE ROOSTER ANTIPAROS
Greece
Where wild sea cliffs, slow rituals, and raw elegance collide
𓇼
WILDLY PLACED: Tucked between the unspoiled sands of Livadia Beach and the lunar hills of Antiparos’ western coast, The Rooster is a sanctuary of stone, shadow, and stillness.
EDITORIAL VIBE: Off-grid sensualist. A little primal, a little poetic. Where Hauser & Wirth collectors come to cleanse and reconnect.
CORE PILLARS: Regenerative luxury, sacred architecture, wellness as rhythm, Cycladic storytelling, purposeful privacy.
MUSE MOOD: She harvests herbs before breakfast, swims in silence, and knows the full moon calendar by heart.
BEST TIME TO GO: Late May – early July for golden isolation; September for wild figs, sea rituals, and warm retreat energy.
THE LOOK: Untamed minimalism - earth-tone villas, hand-hewn stone, linen-draped daybeds, doors that open to sky.
WHO’S IT FOR: Wild aesthetes, conscious couples, design devotees, creative sabbatical-seekers.
INDULGENCE SPECTRUM: Suites from €650 per night. Includes organic breakfasts, intuitive service, and sea-salted clarity.
The Rooster is not a resort. It’s a landscape in dialogue with your nervous system - a place where time becomes a texture and silence becomes a salve. Built without bravado, every structure here seems born from the very earth it rests on - stone-walled villas scattered like ancient whispers, rising from terraces framed by lavender, saltbush, and that endlessly cinematic Antiparos light. You don’t arrive here so much as you return to something primal, steady, and alive.
There’s no signage, no lobby soundtrack. Mornings begin with golden silence, barefoot steps, and the scent of wild sage drifting through breeze-brushed windows. You move slowly here - between plunge pool, private terrace, and the hushed grace of the House of Healing. Between sunrise hikes through untamed fields and long, unstructured afternoons that feel like a meditation in motion. You are held, not directed.
The rooms are sanctuaries of tactility: sand-toned plaster, sculptural ceramics, olive oil soaps, gauzy linens, and beds that seem carved from cloud and sun. Lighting is soft, shadows are welcome. There’s no excess, but every detail feels inevitable. Meals arrive like offerings - handpicked tomatoes, local goat cheese, ancient grain bread, wild figs warmed by the sun, and herbs you walked past earlier on your way to nowhere in particular.
You read more. You speak less. You feel your thoughts before reacting. The Rooster is what happens when a woman builds a retreat for those who move like water: wild, deliberate, and free. It’s not a break from real life - it’s a mirror to what real life could feel like when you slow down enough to truly inhabit it.
THE ROOSTER’S BEATING HEART
Born from one woman’s vision of slow regenerative living, The Rooster is a place where wellness is not commercial but cellular. There’s no 'programming'- just ritual, rhythm, and release. The farm is real. The food is grown. The land is protected. The beating heart? Stillness. And the courage to return to it.
The SLOJOURN spark
FIRST. The houses – private residences that blend into the rocks. No two alike. Every view a meditation.
SECOND. The House of Healing – not a spa, but a sacred pause. Intuitive treatments, sound baths, reiki, and seasonal therapies.
THIRD. The table – ingredients grown on site, harvested daily, cooked simply. Eat with your hands. Drink slowly. Speak softer.

The art of living
You rise with the sun and rinse in silence. Wander the land before breakfast. Practice movement under the dome, receive a deep lymphatic massage, or do nothing at all.
Lunch is often shared outdoors. Dinners are by firelight. The Rooster isn’t about retreat - it’s about remembering how to inhabit yourself fully.
Every moment is a ritual. Every day a recalibration.
The forever lens
-
WATER: On-site well, filtered and integrated into the landscape’s natural water cycle. Native flora surrounds the property and thrives without excess irrigation. Greywater is carefully reused for gardens and non-potable purposes. The resort’s approach to water is both ancestral and future-facing - conserving with intention.
WASTE: Organic composting of all kitchen and garden waste is standard, feeding the on-site farm and herb beds. Plastic use is nearly nonexistent, with biodegradable alternatives used throughout. Earth-aligned sourcing extends from room amenities to packaging, ensuring minimal ecological footprint without sacrificing refinement.
ARCHITECTURE: Passive solar orientation and cross-ventilation reduce the need for artificial climate control. Natural insulation using stone, plaster, and clay ensures energy efficiency and temperature harmony. Built exclusively with local stone by regional craftspeople, each villa blends with the terrain rather than altering it—an homage to traditional Cycladic respect for land.
ENERGY: Low-voltage, warm-spectrum lighting preserves nocturnal ecosystems and supports natural circadian rhythms. Solar-supported systems power much of the property, and the infrastructure is capable of running fully off-grid. Every watt is accounted for with grace.
The together lens
-
The Rooster works closely with local farmers, herbalists, and generational land stewards whose practices are deeply rooted in seasonal rhythm and ancestral knowledge. Many of the staff come from Antiparos or neighbouring Paros, ensuring that local identity is woven into every detail of the guest experience - from dialect to dish, from welcome ritual to shared story. The resort doesn't just support the community - it sustains it.
Community involvement is embedded at every layer - from sourcing and employment to cultural preservation. The Rooster prioritises local hiring, offering ongoing training and mentorship for residents in wellness, hospitality, regenerative farming, and culinary arts. Younger generations are encouraged to remain on the island through meaningful work rooted in local heritage.
The take it with you
-
• A jar of thyme honey from the on-site farm - infused with the taste of sun-drenched hills and the hum of island bees
• A ritual you’ll repeat for the rest of your life - perhaps a barefoot morning tea, a moon bath, or a silent walk through wild herbs
• The feeling of being held by land, not architecture - plus a softness in your breath, a steadiness in your pace, and a memory you’ll carry like a stone in your pocket
WE SLOJOURNED HERE
“We were drawn here by whispers of wild design and quiet luxury. We left altered, carrying something subtler than a souvenir: a recalibrated rhythm, a gentler breath, and a devotion to moving through life with more softness. It reminded us how to listen to the land, how to nourish ourselves with intention, and how to exist without the need to perform.”
